6 When you are finished, follow the steps in method B to reactivate Windows 7.

If this method did not work for you, go to method 2.

Method 2: Activate Windows 7 by using the automated telephone system

1 Click Start, and then click Computer.

2 Click System properties on the toolbar, and then click Click here to activate Windows now in the Windows activation section.

3 If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.

4 Click Show me other ways to Activate.

5 Click Use the automated phone system, and then follow the instructions that are provided.

Although your problem is already fixed, this is the top google response when searching this error code. The error can be caused if your date/time settings are off and date/time can get reset for various reasons. So if you get this error code, the first

easy step is to check the date.

It fixed the problem for me and I figured I should post the resolution somewhere because I did  not see this fix in the top several search engine results.

Good job. Once I corrected the date and re-ran activation process,  no more problem.
